Boost Your Heart Health With This 3-Step Energy Healing Practice

Aug 17, 2022

It is so easy to be critical of ourselves but it just chips away at our happiness and sabotages our heart health, cardiovascular health, and more.

Yes, what you think really matters.

I used to be super critical of myself and still drift into this mode at times. The easiest way to start flipping it? Partner with your body.

Would you berate a partner? Would you focus on small perceived ‘mistakes’ and dwell on them? Would you constantly focus on the ways they should be different? Hopefully your answers to those questions are strong NOs. If not, this convo might not be for you. 😊

I’ve got a specific three step process below but first, at a high level…talk to yourself as you would a friend or partner. I know that sounds cliché but try it!

I’ve talked about the word ‘should’ and how it focuses us on the past and negative. Let’s go deeper.

Your heart and immune system’s function is very closely related to your emotions. If there is a part of you deep inside feeling attacked by yourself, critically judged, how do you think it feels? Most often I see this as a little kid sitting in a corner, in a tight ball, trying to hide and protect, and crying.

Would you want a part of you to be cowering in fear?

NO! It’s not good for your health, but especially your coronary arteries, cardiovascular system, and immune systems. These are great reasons to turn over a new leaf and try to be more civil.

Remember, your thoughts create emotional energy and therefore directly impact your body chemistry.

Heal your body one thought at a time. 🔥

So, how?

When you think you screwed up or are stuck in self-criticism, do this simple three step practice:

  1. Put a hand on your heart. Connect with yourself.
  2. Tell yourself, whether you believe it or not, “I love you and believe in your goodness.”
  3. Ask yourself “what is an actionable step that will move me forward in compassion (toward myself)?”

Use this simple process to orient away from attack mode and into “I’m doing the best I can” mode.

Life isn’t perfect. Humans aren’t perfect, nor are we supposed to be. It’s how we treat ourselves in moments of perceived ‘mistakes’ that makes all the difference. Can you try to shift from attack to love?

Your entire body will thank you.

And if you try, but are still struggling, consider listening to Love Thyself, a Heal-Me-Now session that will help work through these blocks as you listen. Or, let’s chat. Even the most recalcitrant, vicious inner voice can move to compassion and health.
